Butchie's Recipes of La Moderna Pampanga finally opened its doors to friends, family and media last 12 November 2008.

COMELEC chair Justice Jose AR Melo and renowned designer Patis Tesoro were the guests-of-honour at the ceremony. Rev. Fr. Noel B. Magtaas, OSJ of Sanctuario de San Jose blessed the every space in the restaurant and store. The owners Angelo Narciso Songco and Butchie's daughters Aileen and Aimee Lagman and Anne Lagman-Chua, MD envision to be a place where people can enjoy a slice of the province of Pampanga without having to leave the city.

Coinciding with the 34th birthday of president Angelo, guests enjoyed an afternoon of Butchie's Recipes heirloom dishes and pastries; songs from ArtiSta Rita; and a raffle of special items from EVAC Foundation, Claude Tayag's Bale Dutung Enterprises and the Center for Kapampangan Studies.
