Newly-opened along Wilson Street in Greenhills, San Juan, Filipino-Capampangan restaurant-bakery-grocery Butchie’s Recipes of La Moderna Pampanga invites everyone to drop and enjoy family heirloom recipes, bestsellers from the 62 year old La Moderna of Guagua, Pampanga complemented by carefully selected food and non-food items from the “gourmet” province.

Specialty dishes include crab adobo, beef calitiran and bulanglang na bangus – sinigang soup using guava as souring agent. Meryenda items include okoy, lumpiang sariwa, chicken macaroni salad, sandwiches and delectable pastries such as sans rival, sylvannas and taisan rolls.

Beverages include pandan ice tea and tsokolate de batirol which, until supplies last, can be served with duman, the prized and rare green cereal of Pampanga harvested only in the cool months of the year. Take out items include artisan products sampaguita, masa podrida, San Nicolas, turrones de casoy, gorgoryas and many more.

Reasonably value meals priced at P75 are changed every day: Mondays – asado; Tuesday – sinigang na baboy; Wednesday – rellenong bangus; Thursday – bola-bola; Friday – nilagang manok and Saturday – paksiw na bangus.
